I love working in December (kind of).  I find myself going in and out of goal setting for my business and for our family in the month of December.  It’s a bit stressful!  All business people know that they have to accomplish something, but they only have 2.5 to a max of 3.0 weeks to make it happen.  It is 1/12 of our year, right?

Elizabeth Scott suggests that making a plan during the holidays is one of the best ways of relieving stress.  I have to agree with her.  Many years I’ve gone into the holidays with no plan and been blindsided in January/February with the ramifications of my “purchasing” actions.  The group at MayoClinic.com gives us 10 ways of reducing our stress during the holidays that might be helpful.  For those of you that are stressed about getting your holiday cards out to a lengthy list of family and friends maybe doing an “E-Card” makes sense.  It’s not quite as nice as sending a hard copy, but it might be a big time saver for you.  If you want to give gifts to teachers, neighbors, or friends during the holidays, make a batch of fudge or cookies and pack them into nice inexpensive containers.  Here’s a fudge recipe that looks really good!

Anyway, you’re probably wondering why a Telecom/IT website would post a blog about holiday stress and fudge – my answer to you is that we are deep thinking multi talented individuals.  And I know you’ve been wondering how I would fit it into this post, but here is the recipe for “Reindeer Poop” from the folks at Home and Garden.  They recommend that you print and include the following ditty if you package it for friends and family:

I woke up with such a scare when I heard Santa call “Now dash away, dash away, dash away all!”  I ran to the lawn and in the snowy white drifts, those nasty reindeer had left “little gifts”.  I got an old shovel and started to scoop, neat little piles of “Reindeer Poop!”  But to throw them away, seemed such a waste, so I saved them, thinking-you might like a taste!  As I finished my task, which took quite awhile.  Old Santa, passed by and he sheepishly smiled.  And I heard him exclaim as he was in the sky…”Well they’re not potty trained, but at least they can fly!”
